The William Tell Overture. This workshop breaks down how Joe plays the William Tell Overture on the 3 strings of a standard dulcimer. We will work with inverted chords, controlled picking, and strumming, bending strings and more. Whatever it takes to beat out that tune!
Friday 4:15-5:30
Old Time Tunes Old time Fiddle tunes are fun and bouncy and often require a degree of intricate, economical picking on the dulcimer. We will work on that. Tunes include “Done Gone”, “Buckeye Jim” and others.
Saturday 8:45-10:00
Getting Jiggy With It Explore basic dulcimer techniques and strumming rhythms for playing Celtic jigs. It might not be as hard as you think.
Saturday 10:15-11:30
Multi-Part Celtic Tunes This workshop will introduce you to Celtic pieces written in two or more parts. The lead can stand on its own, but other parts can be used to complement the lead or as accompaniment for singing.

Multi-Part Hymn “Shall We Gather At The River” Includes multiple dulcimer parts, sound files, and an accompaniment track in two different speeds, one for practice and one for performance.
